The lens's sensor of the Sony DSC-W55 is a CCD which measures 1/2.5 " and uses a RGB color filter. Sony implemented a digital zoom on the DSC-W55 and included an internal flash being very common in new cameras . The normal focus range between the camera lens and the main subject is 30 cm. The min. shutter speed of the DSC-W55 is 1 seconds and the maximum shutter is 1/2000 seconds.
The movie mode is supported on this camera being a very useful function. The Sony DSC-W55 has an internal storage space of 56 mb extendable by using Memory Stick Duo / Pro Duo + Internal. The LCD screen available on the DSC-W55 measures 2.5 ". There is also a video out output available letting you see your pictures on television. A USB connection is furnished to connect to a computer.
